  • Clear, Up-Front Pricing

Up to 50% less than comparable big-box store installation services. Fixed and tilting mounts on regular drywall start at $179.99, full-motion at $189.99, whether the wall behind it turns out to be Port Perry plaster or a rural stud wall put up last year.

  • Your Guaranteed Peace Of Mind Is Our Warranty

A bracket that works loose in an old Port Perry wall, or a fixing that needs a second look after a season on the shoreline: rare, but if it happens, we come back and fix it. Every job carries a full one-year material and workmanship warranty.

  • Commercial Liability Insurance $2,000,000

Picture the TV taking a wrong turn on the way to the wall and landing on the dock instead. If anything like that ever happens, $2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance covers it, with a certificate sent to a property manager the same day you ask.

How Your Scugog Appointment Runs

One visit where possible, with the uncertain parts handled before they become expensive parts.

  • Send the room

TV model, screen size, a wall photo, preferred position, extras and address. We use those details to quote and bring the right bracket and cable plan the first time.

  • Check the structure

On site, we verify the wall, bracket position, viewing height and cable route with you. Nothing gets drilled because a scanner beeped once.

  • Mount, connect and test

The bracket is anchored, TV and soundbar are aligned, agreed cables are managed, devices are checked and the work area is cleaned before we leave.

What’s Included and What’s Priced Separately

Three lines, not one bundled guess: installation, hardware and cable work. In Scugog, the wall behind the finish usually decides the third line, not the first.

  • Included in every job

A clean site when we leave, and a one-year workmanship warranty, whatever the wall turned out to be.

  • Priced separately

Hardware and cabling are quoted on their own, apart from the installation number on the chart below. A plaster anchor and a stud-wall anchor are not the same line item, which is why we check the wall first.

  • Confirmed when you book

Whether the wall is Port Perry plaster, a shoreline renovation or an ordinary rural stud wall gets confirmed at booking, before we price the rest of the job. Bringing your own bracket or cable works too. We’ll install what you’ve got.

The Wall Matters More Than the Postal Code

A TV mounting job in downtown Port Perry can mean plaster, brick and old framing. Ten minutes out of town it can mean a renovated shoreline property, a newer subdivision wall or a rural house that has been altered more than once. They all fall under Scugog. They do not all take the same anchor.

That is why we quote from the actual room rather than a city-name price list. Send the TV make and model, its size, a straight-on photo of the wall and your Scugog address. We confirm the likely bracket, cable route and price before the appointment. If the photo leaves a question, we settle it on site before making a hole. Drywall is forgiving. Old plaster is less enthusiastic about second attempts.

Screen size matters too. A 55-inch TV over a fireplace and a 75-inch TV in a rural great room are not the same job, even on a similar wall, so tell us the size along with the model when you request a quote.

The planning sequence on an older Scugog wall: identify the finish, locate structure, agree on height, then drill.

Before the Drill Comes Out

Paint tells you almost nothing. Panelling may cover studs, plaster may sit over wood lath, and a stone face may be backed by masonry or by framing. We check what will actually carry the TV and choose the fixing for that structure, not for what the wall looks like from across the room.

We also set the viewing height from where you sit. That matters most over a fireplace, where the mantel already pushes the screen upward. The right bracket in the wrong position is still the wrong installation, and it is harder to fix once the holes are drilled.

If your wall is the awkward one, have a look at our dedicated guides to mounting on plaster and mounting on concrete or masonry.

Port Perry, shoreline and rural Scugog

Three Scugog Settings, Three Installation Questions

  • Older Port Perry interiors

Port Perry has an established town core and a protected downtown heritage district. Inside older houses, the practical issue is often plaster, brick or framing that does not follow modern spacing. We verify the structure and keep exploratory holes to a minimum.

Heritage status concerns exterior changes; an ordinary interior TV installation is a different matter. If your plan affects a protected exterior wall or creates an exterior penetration, check with the Township before work begins.

  • Shoreline and renovated properties

Scugog planning documents distinguish shoreline residential areas from Port Perry and the rural township. In practice, renovations are what make these walls interesting: added insulation, panelling, horizontal blocking and old openings can interrupt an otherwise simple cable drop.

We confirm whether in-wall concealment is sensible. If it is not, a neat surface route beats cutting open a finished wall to prove a point.

  • Rural houses and detached rooms

Outside town, construction varies more from building to building. A finished room over a garage, converted outbuilding or addition may use different framing from the main house. We treat each mounting surface as its own job rather than assume it matches the room next door.

Send the address with the quote request. Rural travel, large-screen handling and whether a second installer is needed all get confirmed before the slot is booked.

Plaster, brick, block or poured concrete

Plaster and Lath, Solid Brick or Concrete: the Scugog Wall Question

Four wall types come up across Scugog, and each one changes the anchor before it changes anything else.

  • Is it plaster and lath, or drywall over studs?

A scanner reading on plaster and lath is often unreliable, since the wood lath strips underneath can read like framing that is not really there. We probe by hand to confirm real structure before choosing an anchor, which keeps the number of test holes down.

  • Is the brick solid or a veneer over framing?

Solid or double-wythe brick needs a masonry-rated anchor set into the brick itself. A veneer wall usually has a wood-framed cavity behind the face, which changes the fixing completely. We check which one we are looking at before drilling either way.

  • What about a poured foundation or block wall?

A finished basement can have a framed stud wall built directly in front of the concrete or block behind it, and the two need entirely different fixings. We tap and probe to find out which, because guessing gets the anchor wrong roughly half the time.

Wire concealment, priced honestly

Hiding TV Wires on a Shoreline, Village or Rural Scugog Wall

Hiding the wire is not expensive on its own, but the wall it is going into decides whether it is even possible.

  • Is it expensive to hide TV wires?

From $99.99 on regular drywall with an open stud cavity. The price rises, or a surface route takes over instead, once insulation, masonry or an older renovation gets in the way of a clean internal run.

  • What rules out an in-wall route on a shoreline property?

Added insulation, horizontal blocking left over from a past renovation, or a cavity that is simply not open are the usual culprits. We check the cavity before promising a route we cannot actually deliver.

  • Is a surface raceway a downgrade?

No, just a different finish. Where the in-wall route is not available, a slim paintable channel disappears once it is painted to match, and it beats opening a finished wall to chase a cable that plaster does not want to give up easily.

Mounting a 65-Inch TV or Larger

A screen around 65 inches or bigger goes up easier with a second pair of hands, so we usually ask for a few seconds of help lifting it onto the bracket once the bracket itself is ready. That keeps the price the same as a smaller screen. Until then, it leans face-in against a wall or lies flat on a blanket, never propped on a corner, which is exactly how a panel that size ends up cracked. A large screen headed out to a rural property or down a long dock gets the same care moving it as it does once it is finally on the wall.

What moves the number is the size of the screen, what the wall is made of, and where the TV needs to sit. Marble, stone, under-cabinet and above-fireplace jobs take longer and need different anchors, so we quote those directly.

  • Video Walls & SmartBoards

Offices and showrooms reach for a video wall or an interactive SmartBoard once a single screen is not enough.

A Fireplace Install Is Four Decisions, Not One

First comes the structure: solid brick, solid stone, veneer or framing. Then heat and mantel clearance. Then the height from your normal seat. Finally, the cable route for the TV, soundbar and any media box.

Those decisions affect one another. A deep mantel can force the TV higher. A full-motion bracket adds leverage. Stone may rule out an internal cable path. A Frame TV adds the One Connect Box to the plan. We work through the whole assembly before centring anything.

The result should look simple because the planning was not. See more detail on soundbar alignment and mounting or browse our installation gallery.

The Wall Isn’t Always What It Looks Like From the Sofa

Who we are

About Us

GTA TV Wall Mounting handles a Scugog job the same way whether it is a Port Perry heritage-district house, a shoreline property or a rural building out past the village line. Wire concealment and low-voltage cabling go through the same wall check as the mount itself, regardless of which one is on the schedule.

A single bedroom TV and a full video wall installation for a Scugog business both start with that check. Monitor installation or a SmartBoard for a local office goes through it first as well.

  • Credentials Matter

HomeStars' Best Of Award: 2018 through 2023, six years straight. Houzz's Best Of Service Award: 2018 through 2021, four years straight.

  • Safety

Whether the wall is Port Perry plaster or a poured foundation in a rural basement, we confirm it can carry the TV's weight before choosing hardware to match. Cables are tucked away from foot traffic, and every installation gets tested before we sign off.

Why we’re better

Why Choose Us?

More than 10,000 installs sit behind us across Toronto and the GTA, and each one carries a one-year material and workmanship warranty. Something wrong gets a return visit and a fix, not an argument.

Up to 50% less than comparable big-box store installation services. What you are quoted covers the installation alone; the bracket and any cable sit on their own line.

We carry $2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance and hand the certificate to a property manager the same day you ask.

Plaster and lath, solid brick, block, poured concrete or plain drywall: one of those is almost certainly what is behind your Scugog wall, and we have anchored into all of them before.

We run 9:00am to 8:00pm, seven days a week, with same-week booking and next-day usually possible once we know the wall and the screen. We work out of Thornhill, Toronto and Richmond Hill, so the drive out to Port Perry or a rural property is already part of how the day gets planned.

Questions we get asked

Port Perry and Scugog TV Mounting Questions

How much should it cost to mount a TV on a wall in Scugog?

From $179.99 for a fixed or tilting bracket on regular drywall up to 65 inches, and from $189.99 for full-motion. Wire concealment on regular drywall starts at $99.99. Bracket and cable are priced on their own, separate from that installation number. Send the TV model and a straight-on photo of the wall and we can usually quote it before we arrive.

Can you mount a TV on plaster in an older Port Perry home?

Yes. Plaster is a finish, not the structure holding the screen, so we locate the framing or masonry behind it and keep the number of test holes to a minimum. A stud finder alone can give a messy reading on plaster and lath, which is why the wall gets checked by hand rather than guessed at.

How much does it cost to mount a TV above a fireplace?

A metal mount above a fireplace starts at $399.99, once we have confirmed the surface, backing, mantel depth and heat are safe to drill into. Above 75 inches, and any fireplace, under-cabinet, marble or stone wall, is quoted from photos rather than priced off a chart, because those walls vary too much to guess.

Can TV wires be hidden in a shoreline or converted cottage wall?

Sometimes. If the wall has a clear wood-framed cavity, low-voltage cable can usually run inside it. Added insulation, horizontal blocking, masonry or old layers of panelling can close that route off. When an internal drop is not sensible, a slim paintable surface channel gives a clean finish without opening half the wall to prove a point.

Can drywall hold a 75-inch TV in a Scugog house?

Not on its own. Drywall alone is not rated for a screen that size, so the bracket needs to reach the framing or masonry behind it, and a 75-inch panel is one of the sizes we quote from a photo rather than off the printed price list. Older Port Perry framing and newer rural stud walls do not always sit on the same spacing, so we confirm it by hand before drilling.

Do you install Samsung Frame TVs and hide the One Connect cable?

Yes. We install the Slim Fit mount, level the screen to the wall rather than the ceiling, and plan the One Connect Box route before the bracket goes up. Depending on the wall and the cable supplied with your model, that may mean a recessed box, an approved in-wall route or a discreet surface channel.

Can you mount a soundbar during the same appointment?

Yes. We mount it directly to the wall or on a compatible bracket that moves with the TV. We confirm the TV and soundbar models first, then align the bar with the screen and route its cable in the same plan as the TV's own.

Do you travel outside Port Perry to rural Scugog properties?

Yes. The Scugog service area covers Port Perry and the surrounding shoreline, hamlet and rural properties. Tell us the address when you request the quote so travel and appointment timing get confirmed before you book, not after.

Are Scugog TV installations insured and warrantied?

Yes. GTA TV Wall Mounting carries $2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance, and every installation carries a one-year material and workmanship warranty. Ask for a certificate and we send it to a property manager or site contact the same day you ask.
