In-wall power
Where do the plugs go when an LG G-series sits flush on the wall?
They go into a recessed AV back box in the wall behind the TV, with power brought into it. How power reaches the box depends on your wall and your existing outlets, and we confirm it in your quote; any new outlet or circuit is work for a licensed electrician. The TV hangs over the box, so the plugs sit inside the wall and the panel hides the opening. From that box we run the HDMI and low-voltage cables through the wall to your console or receiver.
On a regular tilt or full-motion mount, the TV stands a few centimetres off the wall and the power plug and HDMI cables fit in that gap. The Gallery bracket takes the gap away. Plug a standard cord into the back of a flush G-series and it has to bend against the drywall, which pushes that side of the screen off the wall and spoils the look you paid for.
We handle it the same way we handle a Samsung Frame. We mark a back box between two studs, cut it in, bring power to it and run the HDMI and any other low-voltage cables through the wall to wherever your console, receiver or cable box lives. Once the TV is on the bracket you can’t see any of it.
We size the back box to the TV and place it where the panel covers it. Recessed media box installation starts at $400, priced as its own line so you can see it. One exception: we don’t cut into a concrete condo wall. There we’ll suggest a slim VESA mount with enough depth for the plugs and a painted channel for the cable.
