TV Mounting for Aurora, From Historic Plaster to New-Build Drywall
One-year workmanship warranty, $2,000,000 in liability cover, and a price that doesn't change once we're on site.
Clear, Up-Front Pricing
A fixed or tilting bracket starts at $179.99 whether the wall is 1960s plaster or last year's drywall, full-motion at $189.99, and masonry work behind old brick gets confirmed once we've had a look. Up to 50% less than comparable big-box store installation services, with the bracket priced as its own line.
A Warranty That Doesn't Care How Old the Wall Is
Plaster, brick, drywall or concrete, every bracket we hang in Aurora carries the same one-year material and workmanship warranty. A fixing that comes loose after we've left gets fixed at no charge, whichever era of the town it's in.
$2,000,000 in Coverage, Certificate on Request
Aurora's few condo buildings tend to want a certificate on file before we're allowed near the elevator, so we send our $2,000,000 commercial liability policy the same day you ask. We'd rather a property manager see it and never need it than the other way round.
What the Install Day Looks Like
9:00am to 8:00pm, every day of the week — that’s the window we work in, whether the job is old plaster or new-build drywall, and Aurora appointments often land the next day.
The Wall Gets Confirmed First
We check what the wall is before touching a drill — plaster and lath in the older streets, drywall over framing in the subdivisions, concrete in a condo — and settle the height standing in your room rather than guessing it from the doorway.
A Level, Working Installation
Bracket goes up, TV goes on, checked level rather than eyeballed. We connect the cables and confirm the picture and sound both work before we call the visit finished.
No Trace We Were There
Any dust or plaster debris gets cleaned up before we go — part of the visit, not something added to the bill.
What’s Included and What’s Priced Separately
Plaster and lath take longer to open up than a stud-and-drywall wall does, so an Aurora quote splits the labour, the bracket and the wall-specific work into separate lines rather than one number.
Included in every job
Cleanup after the installation, and a one-year workmanship warranty.
Priced separately
The bracket and any wire concealment sit on their own lines, whether it's a plaster wall taking a slower, quieter drill or new drywall taking the fast route.
Confirmed when you book
Whether we're behind genuine lath or a modern stud pattern only settles once we've checked by hand, so that part of the number gets locked in at booking rather than guessed at over the phone.

Older Aurora housing
How do you mount a TV on a genuine plaster wall without cracking it?
Plaster and lath behave differently to drywall under a drill, and the historic streets near the village core have plenty of it.
Why is plaster riskier to drill into?
It’s brittle in a way drywall isn’t, and a rushed hole can crack well past the point you’re drilling. We score and drill slowly, and pilot the hole before committing to the anchor size.
Can you still find the studs?
Usually, though the spacing behind older plaster rarely matches anything modern. A scanner reading struggles with the lath underneath, so confirming by hand is the step that tells us where to drill.
What if there’s brick behind the plaster?
Not unusual on Aurora’s oldest streets. We switch to masonry anchors for that section rather than forcing a stud-rated fixing into something it was never meant for.
Larger screens
What’s involved in mounting an 85-inch TV in an older Aurora home?
The screen and the stairs matter as much as the wall — older homes weren’t built with 85-inch boxes in mind.
Will it fit up the stairs or through the hallway?
Usually, but narrow older stairwells are worth checking in advance. Tell us the layout and we’ll plan the route rather than finding out with the box halfway up the stairs.
Does the bracket change at that size?
Yes — a mount rated for a 55-inch screen isn’t rated for an 85-inch one. We match the bracket to the actual weight and size rather than assuming one size fits all.
Do you need a second person to lift it?
Often just a hand from you once the bracket’s already fixed to the wall — a few seconds, no extra charge. A few of the largest panels need a second installer regardless, and we’ll say so at booking.
Newer Aurora subdivisions
The newest Aurora subdivisions have taller ceilings than the older streets — does mounting height change with them?
It should, though not in the direction most people assume. A taller wall doesn’t mean the screen goes higher; it means there’s more empty space above it if you get the height wrong.
What’s the actual reference point for height?
Eye level from the seating you’ll use most, not the midpoint of the wall — about 42 inches from the floor to the centre of the screen in a typical room. In a tall room those two points can be a foot or more apart, and the wall always wins if nobody measures from the couch. Because people recline once they settle, we aim for your eyeline to land in the lower third of the screen rather than exactly on its centre.
Should the bracket change in a taller room?
Sometimes — a full-motion arm lets the angle tilt down toward low seating instead of forcing the screen higher to look centred, which matters more here than in an older, lower-ceilinged room.
Does the extra wall above the screen need to be addressed?
Not structurally, but plenty of people ask about it. Leaving it bare is entirely normal — it’s a taller wall, not a design problem that needs solving before we mount anything.
Mounting a 65-Inch TV or Larger
Once a screen passes about 65 inches, a second pair of hands makes the lift easier, so we’ll typically ask for a few seconds of help getting the panel onto the bracket after it’s hung. That keeps a second-technician charge off your invoice. A screen at that weight also raises the bar on what we’re anchoring into — we confirm the structure can carry it before the bracket goes anywhere near the wall, not after.
Tall room or an older plaster wall?
One is a height decision, the other a hardware one. Send a photo and we’ll sort out both before we book.
TV Mounting Prices in Aurora
Here’s what the jobs we get asked about most start at. Every number below is a starting point — we’ll confirm your exact price once we’ve seen the TV and the wall.
| The job | Price |
|---|---|
| Fixed or tilt mount TV up to 65", regular drywall | from $179.99 |
| Full-motion mount TV up to 65", regular drywall | from $189.99 |
| Wire concealment Regular drywall | from $99.99 |
| TVs above 75" Call for an exact quote | from $200 |
| Frame TV or LG G-series Up to 65", regular drywall | from $259.99 |
| Frame TV or LG G-series 77" and up | from $299.99 |
| Metal mount installation above a fireplace | from $399.99 |
| Above fireplace, under cabinets, marble or stone walls | Call to confirm |
Prices exclude hardware and are estimates only. We confirm your final price by phone or email once we’ve seen photos and the details of your setup.
What moves the number is the size of the screen, what the wall is made of, and where the TV needs to sit. Marble, stone, under-cabinet and above-fireplace jobs take longer and need different anchors, so we quote those directly.
Send a photo of the TV, the wall and where you want it, and we’ll quote the whole job before we arrive.
Aurora Grew Without Going Up
Aurora got bigger without getting taller, and that one fact shapes more of your installation than anything else about the town.
Three eras, none of them tall
The oldest streets are the ones around the village core at Yonge and Wellington. Regency Acres and Aurora Heights went up mid-century. Bayview Wellington and Bayview Northeast came later again. Three eras of building and not one of them went upward, so whatever decade your house is from, you’ve got a wall rather than a tower, and each era changes what that wall is likely to be made of.
Most of it has been lived in a while
Aurora isn’t a town that turns over quickly. Outside the newest pockets, most houses here have had a couple of owners and at least one renovation behind them, and that history is the thing we plan around rather than the age on the deed — a redone wall doesn’t always match what the rest of the room suggests.
Apartment buildings are the exception here, not the rule
A handful exist, but height was never the direction Aurora grew in. Nearly every job we do here is in a house, so the condo routine that fills our week further south barely comes up, and most conversations here are about the wall itself, not a building's paperwork.
Aurora Homes and What Sits Behind the Drywall
Older housing near the historic streets
The older parts of town bring plaster and lath, brick, and framing laid out long before anyone standardised spacing. A stud finder gives you a hint on those walls, not an answer.
We scan, confirm by hand, and keep the number of holes to a minimum, because plaster is considerably harder to patch invisibly than drywall. It's slower work, and we build that into the appointment rather than rushing it.
Mature and newer subdivisions
Most of the suburban housing is drywall over wood framing, which is the friendliest surface to mount on and takes cable inside the wall without trouble.
Newer estate builds add engineered lumber, occasional steel studs and taller rooms. Height becomes the bigger decision there — a tall wall tempts people to mount high, and that's what people regret once they're sitting on the couch instead of standing in the doorway.
Where the walls turn to concrete
Condo perimeter walls are typically concrete: the most secure surface there is, but nothing gets buried in it, so a slim painted channel carries the cable.
Buildings usually want a certificate of insurance on file and the elevator booked. For offices we handle meeting-room screens and monitor installations to the same standard, scheduled around the building's own booking rules.
Who we are
About Us
Plaster and lath near the historic core, mid-century framing, and engineered lumber in the newer subdivisions all sit behind the same kind of drywall, and each one calls for its own read before a hole goes in. GTA TV Wall Mounting covers TV mounting, wire concealment and low-voltage cabling, and it’s the wall’s era that decides the method each time.
A family room’s single screen and a commercial space’s full video wall installation get booked through us just as often as each other, and one doesn’t get a lower standard because it’s smaller. Smart board and monitor installation work for Aurora’s offices and meeting rooms runs on that same footing.
Credentials Matter
Houzz named us a Best Of Service winner in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 — a badge decided by the Houzz community, not by us.
Homestars adds Best Of Award Winner honours across 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, the same kind of independent, review-based recognition. Both are worth mentioning for the same reason: neither one is self-awarded.Safety
Plaster, drywall and concrete all take different care, so before we commit to a spot we confirm what's behind the surface and choose hardware to suit it rather than assuming. Cable is routed clear of anywhere someone could trip on it, and we double-check the finished installation before we consider the job done.

Our Services
Plaster walls make the fixing depth the first decision; a taller new-build wall makes the tilt angle the second. Different era, different bracket — either way it’s priced on its own line above.
Fixed and Tilting Mounts
Suits the older, lower-ceilinged rooms near the village core, where one seat faces one wall. A fixed bracket sits flat, a tilting one angles down, and both start at the low end of the chart above.
Full-Motion Mounts
Earns its keep in the taller great rooms of the newest subdivisions, where a downward tilt does more for comfort than mounting height ever will. It sits on its own line on the chart above.
Bringing your own bracket?
Send us the make, model and screen size with your quote request and we’ll confirm it’s rated for that weight before we book the appointment.
TV Wall Mounting
Bracket into whatever's behind the wall, plaster, drywall or concrete, with the height set from where you sit rather than the middle of the wall.
Samsung Frame TV Installation
Unlike a regular flat panel, a Frame TV leaves no gap to hide behind, so alignment is the whole job. We map where the One Connect box will sit before touching the wall at all.
Wire Concealment
Dropped inside a wood-framed cavity where that's an option, or run through a slim painted channel on plaster and concrete where it isn't.
Above-Fireplace Mounting
Mantel depth and heat clearance get checked before the height, and we'll say so if the spot you picture isn't the one to use.
Soundbar Mounting
Hung level with the screen and wired through the same route, cheaper booked in the same visit as the TV.
Condo & Commercial Installation
Insurance paperwork filed ahead of time for Aurora's handful of concrete buildings, plus screens for offices and meeting rooms.
Projector Installation
Training rooms and home theatres both go on ceiling brackets here, and the cabling follows the TV’s route so nothing new shows on the wall.
Video Walls & SmartBoards
Aligning several screens into a single video wall takes the same patience as levelling one TV, just repeated across every panel. Interactive boards for a classroom or meeting room get the same wiring care.

Why we’re better
Why Choose Us?
Aurora runs three eras of housing stock at once, genuine plaster and lath near the historic core, mid-century framing, and drywall over engineered lumber in the newest estate builds. More than 10,000 TV installations completed across Toronto and the GTA, each one under a one-year material and workmanship warranty, is what taught us to read all three correctly.
Up to 50% less than comparable big-box store installation services. The quoted price is the installation itself; the bracket and any wire concealment are quoted as their own lines.
$2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance covers every job, and we'll send a certificate ahead of an appointment for the handful of condo buildings in town that ask for one.
Whatever era your wall belongs to, we've almost certainly opened one like it before — plaster, brick, drywall and concrete, in houses, condos and offices across town.

Questions we get asked
TV Mounting in Aurora: Common Questions
What's a TV mount going to cost in Aurora?
$179.99 gets a fixed or tilting mount up to 65 inches on regular drywall, full-motion is $189.99, wire concealment starts at $99.99, and a fireplace mount is $399.99. Those figures are the install only; the bracket and any cable are priced on their own. Send a photo of the wall and we'll firm up the number.
Our house is from the older part of town — what's behind that wall?
Likely plaster over lath, on framing that was never laid out to a modern stud pattern, sometimes with brick further back again. A scanner gives an inconsistent reading on plaster, so we check by hand before committing to a hole.
How high is too high in a room with a two-storey ceiling?
Higher than you'd think, if you go by the wall alone. The right height comes from where you're sitting, not from filling the empty space above the fireplace or the sofa. Centre of screen at seated eye level is the rule — about 42 inches from the floor in most living rooms, which puts the bottom edge of a 65-inch screen around 26 inches up. A two-storey wall tempts you to go higher to fill it, and mounting too high is the single most common complaint we get asked back to fix. Where a mantel forces the screen up, a tilt mount angles it towards you and cuts glare but does not lower it; if it would still sit too high, a pull-down mount or another wall is the real fix.
Is there anything different about hanging a 75 or 85-inch screen?
Mainly the lifting. Once the bracket's up, a panel that size is easier with two sets of hands, so we'll usually ask for a minute of your help getting it onto the arms — no charge for that. A handful of jobs need two installers regardless of help, and we'll say so when we confirm your booking.
My building is one of the few concrete ones in Aurora — can you still mount into it?
Yes — concrete is one of the most secure surfaces to mount into, using a hammer drill, masonry bit and sleeve anchors rated to the screen. It's a less common job out here than it is further south, but the process is the same: a certificate of insurance filed ahead of time, and the elevator booked if the building asks for it.
Will the cables show once it's done?
In a wood-framed wall, no — the run goes inside and the screen looks like it was built into the house. In plaster or concrete an in-wall run usually isn't practical, so we fit a slim painted channel instead, matched to the wall colour.
Do you bring the bracket, or do we need to buy one?
We bring it — fixed, tilting or full-motion, matched to your screen. Already have one? Send us the make, model and TV size and we'll confirm it's the right fit before the appointment.
Are you insured to work in condo buildings?
Yes — $2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance, and we'll get the certificate to your building management directly. Every installation also carries a one-year material and workmanship warranty, condo or house.
