  • Clear, Up-Front Pricing

A fixed or tilting bracket on an Ajax wall starts at $179.99, full-motion at $189.99, and the bracket itself is a separate line so you can see what labour costs. Up to 50% less than comparable big-box store installation services, and the price is confirmed before we knock on the door.

  • A Warranty That Covers the Whole House

Basement, main floor or the shared wall with the neighbour, every bracket we hang carries the same one-year material and workmanship warranty. If a fixing works loose or a cable comes free, we come back and fix it at no charge.

  • $2,000,000 in Coverage, Certificate on Request

Property managers on Ajax condo and townhouse boards usually ask before a contractor gets a key fob, so we keep a $2,000,000 commercial liability certificate ready to send the same day you ask. Nobody plans on the drill hitting a pipe or the mount landing in an aquarium, but the policy is there if it does.

What the Install Day Looks Like

Party wall or basement block, the schedule doesn’t change: one visit, done between 9:00am and 8:00pm, usually with next-day availability.

  • First, we look at the wall

Before any drilling starts, the installer checks what the wall is made of and what’s likely running behind it, then works out the height with you standing in the room. That’s a decision that outlasts the appointment, so it gets made together rather than eyeballed from the hallway.

  • Bracket, screen, level

Once the wall is sorted, the bracket goes on, the TV goes up, and it’s levelled with a proper tool rather than judged by eye. Cables get connected and we run the picture and sound before calling it finished, so any issue shows up while we’re still there.

  • Nothing left behind

Packaging, offcuts and dust go with us when we go. Cleanup isn’t billed as an extra — it’s how the job ends.

What’s Included and What’s Priced Separately

An Ajax quote splits into three lines rather than one number, because a townhouse party wall and a basement block wall don’t cost the same to open up.

  • Included in every job

Cleanup after the installation, and a one-year workmanship warranty.

  • Priced separately

The bracket and any wire concealment sit on their own lines below the installation price, whether you’re buying one from us or supplying your own.

  • Confirmed when you book

Whether your wall turns out to be framed, block or a shared assembly only settles once we’ve had a look, so that part of the number gets locked in at booking, not guessed at over the phone.

Soundbars and centre channels

Where Should a Soundbar Go?

A soundbar sounds better mounted with intention than balanced on a shelf below the TV. Three things get settled before it goes on the wall.

  • Wall or TV bracket?

Most soundbars mount straight to the wall just under the screen on their own bracket, which keeps the TV mount carrying only the TV’s weight. If your TV bracket has a soundbar shelf built in, we’ll use that instead — either way, the goal is a fixed, level line under the picture.

  • Spacing that doesn’t choke the sound

Too close to the screen and the soundbar can rattle against the TV or block the lower bezel; too far below and the sound separates from the picture. We aim for a gap that’s tight enough to look intentional and wide enough that nothing touches.

  • Keeping the remote’s eye clear

The TV’s infrared sensor usually sits behind the bottom bezel, and a soundbar mounted too high or too far forward can block it. We test the remote from your actual seating position before calling the job finished, not just from standing in front of the wall.

Life in a row house

What a Townhouse Layout Changes

The party wall gets most of the attention, but a lot of what makes an Ajax townhouse job different comes down to the shape it sits in, not just what’s inside the drywall.

  • Narrower rooms mean fewer real options

A typical townhouse living room gives you one or two walls that work for a TV, not four to choose from. Furniture placement is usually already decided by the floor plan, so the height often has to work around a doorway or a stairwell opening rather than a blank wall.

  • Two-storey layouts complicate the cable run

Where the equipment lives on a different level than the screen — a router in the basement, a receiver upstairs — the cable has to travel between floors, not just across one wall. That’s a longer route to plan than a single-storey home needs, so it’s worth flagging early.

  • The anchor only needs to hold the bracket

On a shared wall the goal is a secure hold, not a deep one — the fastener gets sized to what the wall needs, and no further. It’s a small distinction, but it’s the one that matters most when there’s a finished room on the other side.

Matching the mount to the room

Does the Room Have One Sightline or Two?

Ajax homes range from a straightforward single living room to an open-concept main floor with a kitchen island in view of the TV as well — and that difference decides the bracket more than the wall does.

  • One sofa, one wall, one straight answer

A smaller or more traditional layout, common on the older streets, usually has one obvious seating spot directly across from the TV wall. A fixed bracket does everything that room needs, and there’s no reason to pay for movement nobody will use.

  • A sectional changes the geometry

Newer Ajax builds often run a sectional at an angle to the TV wall rather than square to it. A tilting bracket can correct for height, but it can’t correct for that kind of angle — that’s a full-motion job, and it’s worth mentioning the furniture layout when you book.

  • The kitchen sightline is the detail people forget

Open-concept main floors mean the TV sometimes gets watched from the kitchen as often as from the couch. If that’s the case in your home, say so — it can shift the ideal mounting position sideways as well as the choice of bracket.

Mounting a 65-Inch TV or Larger

Anything from around 65 inches up is easier with a second pair of hands, so the installer will usually ask you to help lift the screen onto the bracket. That takes a few seconds and it means there’s no second-technician charge on your invoice. The handling risk decides it at that size — a panel over 80 inches is awkward for one person to steady once it clears the packaging, no matter how sound the wall or bracket is.

Prices exclude hardware and are estimates only. We confirm your final price by phone or email once we’ve seen photos and the details of your setup.

What moves the number is the size of the screen, what the wall is made of, and where the TV needs to sit. Marble, stone, under-cabinet and above-fireplace jobs take longer and need different anchors, so we quote those directly.

Send a photo of the TV, the wall and where you want it, and we’ll quote the whole job before we arrive.

Basements and Party Walls: Ajax’s Two Real Variables

Between Pickering Village’s older streets and the newer subdivisions further north, the question that decides an Ajax job almost never changes: what’s holding the wall up. The house’s age is only a clue — we still check by hand.

  • Framed wall, or drywall on block?

A finished basement can be either, and it changes the whole job. Framed means locating studs and driving into timber. Block or poured concrete under the drywall means a hammer drill and masonry anchors, because a screw through the board alone has nothing to grip.

  • A stud finder isn’t the last word

Run a scanner over a strapped-out concrete wall and it can give a reading that looks like a stud. We treat that as a starting point, not an answer, and confirm with a knock-and-probe test before anything gets drilled — a wrong guess here means a patch job, not just a delay.

  • Shared walls get flagged before we arrive

Townhouse and semi party walls in Ajax run block, brick or a doubled stud assembly depending on when the row was built. Mention it when you send photos and we’ll bring the right anchors instead of working it out on the doorstep.

Reading an Ajax Wall by Housing Type

  • Detached homes across South Ajax and the newer subdivisions

Most of it is drywall over wood framing, which is the easiest surface to work with — the bracket lands on solid structure and the cable disappears inside the wall before it reaches the media unit.

Recently built sections aren't guaranteed textbook spacing, and engineered lumber or an occasional steel stud won't behave like solid timber, so we still confirm everything by hand rather than trusting the first scan.

  • Townhouse rows and semis

Party walls vary block to block — block, brick, or a doubled stud assembly are all normal here, and each one calls for different hardware. Establishing which you've got before a heavy screen goes up beats finding out mid-job.

Cable routing in a narrower townhouse floor plan usually reads better as a vertical drop behind the media unit than a long horizontal run across the wall, so that gets planned before the bracket goes up.

  • Basements and commercial spaces

Basement walls are frequently concrete or block, occasionally with a framed wall standing in front of it, and the two need completely different fixings — we check first, then choose hardware to match.

For business premises, screens go up high and clear with the cable run in proper containment, whether that's a small reception area or a full multi-screen video wall.

Who we are

About Us

GTA TV Wall Mounting reads Ajax by its housing stock: townhouse party walls, semis, and basements that were finished years after the house went up. We hang screens, plan wire concealment, and run low-voltage cable between floors when the equipment sits on a different level from the TV.

An Ajax commercial video wall installation and a smart board for the office get the same first look as one screen in a townhouse living room — size doesn’t change what happens before the drill comes out. Monitor installation for offices goes through that identical first step.

  • Credentials Matter

Six straight years of Homestars Best Of recognition — 2018 through 2023 — for the kind of customer service that gets people to leave a review in the first place. Houzz added its own Best Of Service award on top of that for 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, voted on by homeowners and designers using the platform. Neither is a participation trophy; both come from people who hired us.

  • Safety

The wall gets assessed for load before anything is fixed to it, the hardware gets matched to the material behind the drywall, and every cable gets routed clear of foot traffic rather than left to dangle. The finished installation gets tested and checked over before we call the job done.

Our Services

What decides the bracket in an Ajax living room? Mostly the sightlines. One clear line to the TV wall is a fixed or tilting job; a corner unit with two sightlines needs full-motion. Either way, it prices as its own line above.

  • Fixed and Tilting Mounts

Right for the one-sightline living rooms common on Ajax’s older streets. A fixed bracket sits flat to the wall, a tilting one angles the screen down, and both are the cheaper end of the chart above.

  • Full-Motion Mounts

Worth the extra line item when a sectional sits at an angle to the wall, which is common in newer Ajax layouts. It pulls the TV out and swivels it to face the seating instead of the wall.

  • Bringing your own bracket?

Send the make and model with your quote request and we’ll check it against the TV’s VESA pattern and the wall behind it before we show up to install it.

  • TV Wall Mounting

Bracket into real structure, whichever type of Ajax wall is behind the drywall, with the height set off your seating rather than a tape measure.

There’s no repositioning a Frame TV once it’s up — the flush mount doesn’t forgive a redo. That’s why the One Connect route gets planned on paper before the first hole goes in.

Why we’re better

Why Choose Us?

Ajax runs three wall types on a regular basis: wood-framed detached homes, party walls in the townhouse rows, and finished basements built out from block. More than 10,000 TV installations completed across Toronto and the GTA, each one under the same one-year material and workmanship warranty, is what taught us which anchor each type wants.

Up to 50% less than comparable big-box store installation services. The quoted price is the installation itself; the mount and cabling are quoted as their own lines rather than folded into one number.

$2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance covers every job, and we’ll send a certificate ahead of an appointment if your building or property manager wants one first.

Whatever the wall behind the TV, we’ve almost certainly opened one like it before — drywall, block, brick and shared party assemblies, in houses, basements, condos and offices.

Questions we get asked

TV Mounting in Ajax: Common Questions

What does a TV mount install cost in Ajax?

Fixed and tilting brackets on standard drywall start at $179.99 for screens up to 65 inches; full-motion starts at $189.99. Wire concealment starts at $99.99, and mounting above a fireplace with a metal bracket starts at $399.99. Those cover the installation labour — the bracket and any cabling are separate line items, and a photo gets you a firm number before we show up.

My TV is going on a wall shared with the neighbour — does that change anything?

It can. A party wall between semis or townhouses might be block, brick, or two stud walls back to back, and each one takes a different anchor. We'd rather find out what's there before the first hole goes in than discover it halfway through.

The basement is finished — how do you know what's behind the drywall?

We don't guess. A finished basement can be a framed wall built out from poured concrete, or drywall straight onto block, and both look identical once painted. A quick knock-and-probe test settles it, and the anchor choice follows from that answer.

Can the cable disappear into the wall?

In a wood-framed wall, yes — the cable drops inside and exits near the outlet behind your media unit. Concrete or block walls in a basement won't take an in-wall run, so we use a slim channel that gets painted to match instead.

Will you install a Samsung Frame TV?

Yes, and it's a different job to a regular flat panel. The Frame is meant to sit almost against the wall, so the bracket has to be right first time, and we route the One Connect cable before drilling so it doesn't end up as an afterthought.

Is mounting above a fireplace ever a bad idea?

Sometimes, yes, and we'll say so. The wrong spot puts the screen too high to watch comfortably, or too close to real heat. We check what's behind the surround, how the mantel sits, and where your eyeline lands before agreeing to the height.

Do I need to buy my own bracket?

No — we stock fixed, tilting and full-motion brackets and will recommend one based on your screen and how you watch it. Already own one? Tell us the make and model with your quote request and we'll confirm it's right for the job.

Can you provide insurance documents for a condo or office booking?

Yes. We carry $2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance and will send a certificate to a property manager or building office the same day you ask. Every job, residential or commercial, carries the same one-year material and workmanship warranty.
