Fair Pricing From Brooklin to the North End
One warranty, one insurance policy, and a firm number before the appointment starts.
Clear, Up-Front Pricing
Up to 50% less than comparable big-box store installation services. A fixed or tilting mount starts from $179.99, full-motion from $189.99, and the hardware is priced on its own line, whether the wall turns out to be drywall or something older underneath.
Your Guaranteed Peace Of Mind Is Our Warranty
We rarely get called back to a Whitby install, but if something needs adjusting after the fact, we return and fix it at no charge. The one-year material and workmanship warranty applies the same way whether you're in a north-end subdivision or an older Brooklin home.
Commercial Liability Insurance $2,000,000
Say a screen slips while it's being lifted onto a custom cabinet and the floor takes the hit instead. If that happens, $2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance covers the job, north-end subdivision or a Brooklin heritage home.
What the Install Day Looks Like
North end or Brooklin, one visit covers it, in our 9:00am to 8:00pm window, usually the same day or the next.
We start with what the wall is
Older plaster in Brooklin’s village core, drywall in a north-end subdivision, or something else again — the installer confirms it before drilling, and settles height with you in the room rather than guessing.
The mount goes on, then everything gets tested
Bracket anchored, TV hung, level checked properly rather than eyeballed. Cables get connected and we confirm picture and sound work before the job is called done.
The visit ends the way it started
No dust, no offcuts, no leftover packaging. Cleanup is part of the appointment, not something billed on top.
What’s Included and What’s Priced Separately
The quote breaks into pieces on purpose. Installation, hardware and cable work each get their own line, so you're not stuck guessing which part of the number covers what.
Included in every job
Cleanup and a one-year workmanship warranty come standard on every Whitby job, no separate charge.
Priced separately
Mount and cables are quoted apart from the labour. What's on the chart further down is installation only.
Confirmed when you book
The final number depends on your wall, screen size and where it's going, and we lock those in at booking. Already own a mount or cable? We'll fit those instead.

New build vs old build
The stud question splits along the same line as the housing does
North-end subdivisions and the older streets around Brooklin don’t just look different — what’s inside the wall can differ too.
Newer framing sometimes swaps in steel
A recently built partition wall, especially one backing onto a utility closet or shared wall, occasionally uses engineered lumber or a section of light-gauge steel instead of solid timber throughout. It’s the exception on a Whitby job, not the rule, but worth checking rather than assuming.
We check with a magnet before we check with a drill
Timber and steel sound identical under a knuckle. A magnetic stud finder settles it properly, and it takes less time than arguing about what a knock sounded like.
A full-motion bracket needs the right screw for either material
Whether the fixing point turns out to be wood or steel, a full-motion mount puts more strain on it over time than a fixed bracket does, so the fastener gets chosen for the load it will carry, not just what’s quick to hand.
Outside the house
Garage and workshop walls play by different rules
A garage or workshop screen deals with a different wall than the living room does — often bare studs, sometimes insulated, and always colder in January.
Bare studs are the easy version
An unfinished garage wall with exposed studs is one of the simplest surfaces to mount to — no scanning required, just picking the right height and driving into structure that’s already visible.
Finished garages need the same check as any house wall
Once drywall or panelling goes up over the studs in a converted garage or home gym, it behaves like any other interior wall, and we scan and confirm before drilling the same way we would indoors.
Temperature swings are worth mentioning, not worrying about
An unheated garage runs colder than a living room, and that’s fine for the mount itself — brackets and anchors don’t mind the cold. It’s the screen and any electronics worth checking are rated for it, which is a question for the manufacturer, not the installer.
Moving house
Taking the TV down from one wall and putting it up on another
If the mount is coming off an old wall as part of a move, patching that wall matters as much as fitting the new bracket — two different jobs in the same visit.
Timing it around moving day, not after
If the old mount needs to come down before the movers arrive, tell us the date when you book — a rushed removal risks the wall more than a planned one does, and there’s no reason to rush it once we know the schedule in advance.
The old wall isn’t automatically our job
We can leave the anchor holes ready for a painter, or point you to what needs filling — but making good the wall you’re leaving is usually between you and whoever inherits it, so we’ll be clear about where our part ends.
The new wall gets assessed like any other
We start from scratch on the new spot — checking what’s behind it rather than carrying over assumptions from wherever the television used to hang, plaster in Brooklin or drywall somewhere else entirely.
Mounting a 65-Inch TV or Larger
A 65-inch screen or larger needs two people to lift safely, and on a typical Whitby job that’s you and the installer for the few seconds it takes to seat it on the bracket — there’s no extra charge added for that help. A screen that wide usually pushes the media console sideways too, so the cable slack ends up coiled somewhere new rather than tucked behind where a smaller screen used to sit.
Older home or new-build subdivision?
The two test completely differently under a drill. Send a photo of the wall and we’ll tell you which one you’re dealing with.
TV Mounting Prices in Whitby
Here’s what the jobs we get asked about most start at. Every number below is a starting point — we’ll confirm your exact price once we’ve seen the TV and the wall.
| The job | Price |
|---|---|
| Fixed or tilt mount TV up to 65", regular drywall | from $179.99 |
| Full-motion mount TV up to 65", regular drywall | from $189.99 |
| Wire concealment Regular drywall | from $99.99 |
| TVs above 75" Call for an exact quote | from $200 |
| Frame TV or LG G-series Up to 65", regular drywall | from $259.99 |
| Frame TV or LG G-series 77" and up | from $299.99 |
| Metal mount installation above a fireplace | from $399.99 |
| Above fireplace, under cabinets, marble or stone walls | Call to confirm |
Prices exclude hardware and are estimates only. We confirm your final price by phone or email once we’ve seen photos and the details of your setup.
What moves the number is the size of the screen, what the wall is made of, and where the TV needs to sit. Marble, stone, under-cabinet and above-fireplace jobs take longer and need different anchors, so we quote those directly.
Send a photo of the TV, the wall and where you want it, and we’ll quote the whole job before we arrive.
How Whitby Homes Differ
Newer homes in the north end
Much of Whitby's newer housing — Williamsburg, Rolling Acres, and the subdivisions that have grown out around Brooklin — is straightforward drywall over wood framing, which is the easiest surface to work with. Cable disappears inside the wall and the bracket lands on solid structure without much drama.
The usual caveats apply to recent construction: engineered lumber, the occasional steel stud, and spacing that doesn't always follow the rule. A fine pilot hole settles what’s there faster than a stud finder does, so that’s the extra step before anything larger goes in.
Older central and village housing
Downtown Whitby, Port Whitby and the old village core of Brooklin bring plaster and lath, brick, and framing laid out before modern spacing conventions. None of that prevents a solid installation, but it changes the method — physical verification instead of a scanner, masonry anchors instead of wood screws.
Where a wall has been renovated once or twice, there can be strapping or patched openings behind the finish. Worth finding before the drill goes in, not after. A house that's changed hands a few times can also have both eras behind one wall — plaster on the original section, drywall where a later addition was tied in.
Finished basements and commercial rooms
Basement walls are often concrete or block, sometimes with a framed wall built in front of them. Those two need completely different hardware, so we check which one we're dealing with first.
For offices and retail, screens go up high and clear with cable properly contained. We handle meeting-room displays through to multi-monitor setups, and for retail units we also check whether the screen needs to clear a display case or counter before settling on a final height.
Samsung 75-Inch TV in a Custom Cabinet, Whitby

A Samsung 75-inch screen set into the joinery of a custom wall unit in a Whitby house — gloss cabinets above, a drawer run below, and drywall behind the cabinet itself.
The wall was the easy part. Access was the problem: once a screen that size is sitting inside a cabinet opening, you can’t get behind it. So the mount has to do that job instead. We fitted our own full-motion mount, which lets the TV pull clear of the niche far enough to reach the connections and then sit back flush.
That decision outlasts the install. Swapping an HDMI cable or adding a source later happens by pulling the screen forward — not by dismantling the cabinet.
The carpenter had built a false wall into the unit, so the cabling runs behind it rather than on the surface. Nothing shows under the screen or down the wall. It’s the same principle as in-wall wire concealment, using the void the joinery already gave us.
If you have joinery already in place, or a carpenter about to build some, settle the mount before the cabinet is finished. Send a photo of the opening with your TV size and we’ll tell you what will fit and still be serviceable afterwards.
Who we are
About Us
GTA TV Wall Mounting runs Whitby from the new-build north end down through downtown to Brooklin. Newer framing, older plaster and heritage brick each answer a drill differently, and each sets what wire concealment can hide.
A video wall installation for a Whitby office and a single screen for a family room get the same visit and the same crew. Add smart boards or monitor installation and it's one booking.
Credentials Matter
Six consecutive Homestars Best Of Award wins, 2018 through 2023, come from homeowner reviews rather than an internal nomination. Houzz recognized the same service window from 2018 through 2021 on its own platform. Together they track years of jobs that customers were satisfied enough to rate.
Safety
A Whitby installation starts by confirming the wall can hold the screen's weight, whatever that wall turns out to be behind the paint. We choose hardware to match, keep cable clear of walkways, and check the finished mount is solid before the installer signs off.

Our Services
North-end drywall takes any of the three brackets without a thought; an older Brooklin brick or block wall usually won't take a full-motion arm's leverage. Worth checking before the bracket gets bought, since it's priced apart from the installation.
Fixed and Tilting Mounts
Flat and steady, or angled a touch downward, this covers most Whitby bedrooms and standard living rooms, and it's the starting price on the chart above.
Full-Motion Mounts
Extends off the wall and swivels, which matters in a room where the seating isn't square to the screen. Priced on its own line above.
Bringing your own bracket?
Bringing your own bracket is fine. Send us the make, model and screen size with your quote and we'll check it's compatible before the appointment.
TV Wall Mounting
The bracket lands on real structure, the height matches where you sit, and the screen comes out level, whether that's a north-end subdivision wall or an older Brooklin one.
Samsung Frame TV Installation
The position has to be right before the first hole; a Frame sits too flush to adjust afterward, north-end subdivision or older Brooklin wall alike. We map the One Connect route in that same visit.
Wire Concealment
Where the wall allows it, the cable runs inside and disappears; where it doesn't, a slim painted channel does the job instead.
Above-Fireplace Mounting
Structure, mantel depth, heat and viewing angle all get checked first, and we'll flag it if the spot isn't going to work.
Soundbar Mounting
Level with the screen, properly spaced, cable kept out of sight.
Condo & Commercial Installation
Concrete walls, insurance certificates and elevator scheduling, for boardrooms, retail spaces and offices.
Projector Installation
We put the projector on the ceiling and the cable in the wall or a channel, for a theatre, boardroom or training room.
Video Walls & SmartBoards
SmartBoards for a classroom or training room, video walls built from several panels for a showroom or lobby.

Questions we get asked
TV Mounting in Whitby: Common Questions
How much does TV mounting cost in Whitby?
A fixed or tilting mount on drywall is $179.99 up to 65 inches, full-motion is $189.99, wire concealment starts at $99.99, and a fireplace mount is $399.99. Brick, block and concrete sit toward the higher end of installation pricing because of the extra time and anchors involved. Hardware is always quoted separately — send a photo and we'll confirm the number.
Is my Whitby house older plaster or newer drywall?
Downtown Whitby, Port Whitby and the old core of Brooklin lean plaster and lath over framing that predates modern spacing rules. The newer subdivisions further north are straightforward drywall over wood studs. Either way, a light tap along where the stud should be tells us more than the reading did, so that's the last check before the drill goes in.
What's behind a finished basement wall in Whitby?
Could be a framed wall, could be concrete or block right behind the drywall — and those two need completely different anchors. We probe before drilling rather than assuming, because getting it wrong means redoing the fixing.
How much to wall mount a TV and hide the cables in Whitby?
From $279.98 together on regular drywall — $179.99 for a fixed or tilting mount plus $99.99 for wire concealment, quoted as two separate lines. Plaster, block and concrete can't take an in-wall cable run, so those get a slim painted channel instead, priced the same way.
Do you install Samsung Frame TVs in Whitby?
Yes. The Frame sits almost flush to the wall, so the position needs to be right before anything is drilled. We fit the slim-fit bracket, level it properly, and route the One Connect cable where the wall construction allows it to be hidden.
How much does it cost to mount a TV above a fireplace in Whitby?
From $399.99 for a metal mount above the firebox, which reflects the taller working height and the extra anchoring most fireplace walls need. We still check mantel depth, heat output and your actual viewing angle before settling on a spot, and we'll say so if it's going to leave you looking up at an angle that gets old fast.
Do you bring the bracket, or can I supply my own?
Either. We stock fixed, tilting and full-motion brackets, or we'll install one you've already bought if it's a match for the screen and the wall. Send the make, model and size ahead of the appointment.
Are you insured for condo and commercial jobs in Whitby?
Yes. We carry $2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance and can send the certificate to a property manager or building office the same day you ask. Every installation carries a one-year material and workmanship warranty regardless of the setting.
How fast can someone get to me in Whitby?
Usually the same day or the next, working 9:00am to 8:00pm. Send the TV model, a photo of the wall and the rough location, and we'll confirm a time slot and a firm price before anyone heads out.
